Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and the former Institute of Culinary Education instructor She is also a television personality. She is the host of Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as the host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers concise easy-to-master techniques for home cooks in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell also worked at some of New York's top restaurants, has learned about Italian food, its culture and traditions as well as competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Early on, while living in the New York's Upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stage for her when she earned the Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is a wonderful experience. I could not be more educated or accomplished in my studies. After graduation, chef Burrell was able to spend a full time in Italy attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one Michelin-starred restaurant located in Tuscany. In Italy the chef developed an appreciation for and understanding of Italian food. This had an enormous impact on how she views food. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of children facing obstacles and is also a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador, where she advocates for the awareness of juvenile diabetes. Burrell speaks on her culinary passion and shares her experiences in the food world as she frequently travels throughout the US in the roles of mentors and speakers. Anne declared that she felt fortunate to be able to communicate her love of cooking to the people around her.
